Laptop Boost For Preston Charity From Lancashire Computer Firm

Emmaus Preston has received a laptop donation from Computers 4 Charity to help people gain skills and employment.

The donated laptops will be used by people supported by our charity to complete online training courses, improve digital skills and help in the search for employment. Emmaus Preston provides a home, work and individual support to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.

Karen Wallis, Deputy Support Worker at Emmaus Preston, said: “We’re delighted to have received two laptops from Computers 4 Charity which will be put to good use by our community members. We send our sincere thanks to Computers 4 Charity for choosing Emmaus Preston and supporting us with this kind donation.”

Computers 4 Charity is a registered charity operating as a social enterprise. Through a partnership with Microsoft’s Digital Pipeline, Computers 4 Charity works with volunteers and veterans to rehome donated computers and laptops to charity projects, schools and hospices.

George Cook, Honorary Chief Executive of Computers 4 Charity, said: “We are delighted to support Emmaus Preston, a leading charity working to end homelessness, by donating two laptops. These can be used to help the people they support to apply for jobs, benefits and housing. Computers 4 Charity applaud Emmaus for the excellent and selfless work they do in supporting people who find themselves without a home.”

Emmaus Preston supports up to 26 adults at a time at our community home in Preston. The majority of our charity’s income is generated via our social enterprise. We sell a wide range of new, refurbished, and pre-loved items in our Preston charity stores and online shops.
