Visit the Lancashire Infantry Museum
Housed in Fulwood Barracks, some of Preston’s finest 19th-Century listed buildings, and still a real life working barracks to boot, this is the largest regimental military heritage collection in the North of England, and possibly the whole country with over 60,000 items catalogued. The Lancashire Infantry Museum provides a most unusual museum experience that covers over 300 years of our history.
Brockholes Nature Reserve
Brockholes is full of nature moments, explore the flagship Lancashire Wildlife Trust nature reserve, and you’ll see the wide variety of wildlife on offer. You can take a walk along the River Ribble, explore the ancient woodland and amble around the lakes. There’s hides, paths and viewing points that have been specifically designed to allow you to get closer to nature and wildlife
Avenham & Miller Park
Avenham & Miller Parks are located in the heart of Preston’s city centre, yet feel far removed from their urban surroundings. The parks are connected by beautiful and scenic paths, creating one large and diverse park with a lot to offer. With a backcloth provided by the River Ribble, Avenham Park ranks amongst the finest examples of traditional Victorian parkland in the North West.
This park is created from a natural amphitheatre and has a famous Japanese Rock Garden with a wide variety of unusual ornamental plants, together with beautiful water features.
Harris Museum
