It’s National Curry Week from 5th till 11th October so we are taking a look at the best restaurants and takeaways to get the Indian cuisine in Preston.

Whether you can handle the heat and choose a Vindaloo or prefer something milder like a Korma, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to curries in Preston.

5. Tiger Belly

Kicking off the list is a more recent addition to the choice of Indian takeaways in Preston.

Based on Blackpool Road, Tiger Belly recently celebrated its first anniversary and in that time they have quickly built up a great reputation in the area.

They have a wide range to choose from including the sweet and sour dish, Dhasnak and a Ceylon which is even hotter than a Vindaloo.

4. Cinnamon Spice

Based on Water Lane, Cinnamon Spice has been a mainstay for Indian takeaway in Preston for many years.

One of the more affordable options on this list, this takeaway has great quality authentic Indian dishes.

They have a range of signature dishes that you can’t get anywhere else including the Kumbwalla which is cooked with wild mushrooms in BBQ flavour sauce.

3. Amonbagh

Winner of the 2019 Lancashire Post Best Takeaway in Lancashire. Amonbagh on Sharoe Green Lane has a big emphasis on serving food that is as fresh as possible.

They keep food stock to a very minimum low so you know you will be getting a delicious fresh meal. Great service at a good price.

2. East Z East

East Z East offers a modern dining experience situated in the heart of Preston city centre with welcoming and friendly staff. The restaurant on Church Street has a great atmosphere and a range of dishes to choose from.

The Indian resturant has been well known in Preston for it’s great quality and signature giant naan breads.

1. Silk Route

Topping off the list and beating some tough competition is a restaurant that offers all the classic Indian dishes at an affordable price with generous portions.

Based on Strand Road, The Silk Route ticks all boxes for anything you could want from Indian cuisine, nice atmosphere, great service and good quality for value.

Their menu has a range of the traditional Indian options as well as some dishes you can’t get at other Indian restaurants.

They offer roasted duck pancakes or if you are feeling like something extra special, you can get Korsai Lamb which is marinated in spices and slow-cooked until it falls off the bone.
