When Preston Hub and Preston Foodie Hub were invited down to the 3-day launch of Hickory’s in Hutton, just outside Preston, we were excited to see how the southern style smokehouse would look!

The former Anchor Inn on Liverpool Road plays host to the new Hickory’s after the team revamped and renovated the building. The team behind the new Hickory’s confirmed the news back in March about their opening after rumours circulated like wildfire on social media.

It’s the first Hickory’s in Lancashire with others located nearby in Southport and Cheshire. Preston’s new Hickory’s is in a prime location just off the A59 at Hutton near the Police headquarters.

The new Hickory’s is a family friendly BBQ restaurant with plenty of fun-filled gimmicks for the kids to enjoy and enough room for over 150 diners. Meat-lovers are in their element at Hickory’s with a plethora of options including their delicious Southern Fried Chicken.

After walking through the main doors, you’re greeted with an impressive bar area that’s sure to be the focal point for beer-drinkers and anyone planning on watching live sport – All major UK and US sports will be shown live.

Our team decided to take their children to the official launch after noticing free popcorn was on offer. A cinema room for the little ones was also well appreciated!

The launch of Hickory’s in Hutton also means that Hickory home delivery is available to customers in Lancashire. Their delivery service began during COVID as a way of ensuring that family’s were fed high-quality food even when they were unable to leave their house.

Attendees to the 3-day launch posted rave reviews in our Preston Foodie Hub group.

Louise Pratt said; “Considering tonight- launch night was full, the wait in between courses was spot on.”

Due to the success of the 3-day launch, Hickory’s have shifted their official opening night from Monday 22nd August to tonight – Friday 19th August. Food is served from 11am daily.

John Welsh told Lancashire Post: “We have been looking for the perfect site in Lancashire for some time now. When we found the Hutton site and met some of the local community, we knew it was the perfect spot for a Hickory’s.”

“We have had so much support from the local community and we cannot wait to welcome them all to our new home and hopefully convert a whole host of new fans to all things BBQ!”
