Three Teenagers Jailed for Terrifying Knifepoint Robbery in Bolton

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests and Sentencing

Three teenagers have been sentenced following a shocking knifepoint robbery in Bolton, which left their victim traumatised. Thanks to fast police work, the offenders were caught within hours of the crime, ensuring justice was swiftly served.

The Robbery: A Violent Attack in Bolton

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 7 November 2023, when the three teenagers targeted their victim in a violent knifepoint robbery. The group not only threatened the victim with a knife but also stole his phone and bank card before fleeing the scene.

However, their attempted getaway was short-lived. Investigators quickly pieced together their movements and discovered that the teenagers had used a taxi to travel to the scene of the crime. Later that evening, they attempted to book another cab—but they were unaware that police officers were already on their trail.

Arrest and Sentencing

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) wasted no time in tracking them down. Officers were waiting for the suspects when they attempted to leave, leading to their swift arrest. They were later charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article, ensuring they remained in custody while the case progressed.

At their recent sentencing, all three were handed custodial sentences, marking a clear message that violent crime will not be tolerated in Bolton.

A Message from Greater Manchester Police

Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Alex Byrne, from GMP’s Bolton CID, commended the rapid investigation and teamwork that led to the arrests. He reassured the public that GMP is dedicated to keeping communities safe and that officers will continue working to remove dangerous offenders from the streets.

“This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was subjected to threats at knifepoint. Thanks to a swift and thorough investigation, we were able to identify, locate, and arrest the offenders within hours. This result shows that violent crime will not be tolerated in Greater Manchester.”
