A quaint hamlet on the southern slopes of the West Pennine Moors, Horrocks Fold consists of historic cottages and converted farm buildings. It’s an excellent starting point for hikes, offering trails leading to Horrocks Fold Wood, Scout Road, and Barrow Bridge.
One of Bolton’s oldest manor houses, Smithills Hall dates back to the 15th century. Visitors can explore its well-preserved rooms, learn about its rich history, and enjoy the surrounding gardens and woodlands. The hall often hosts events and exhibitions, providing insights into Bolton’s heritage.
