Emma Bell will be doing a skydive to raise money for Derian House who supported her daughter before her tragic passing.
Despite being terrified of heights, the Preston mum will be taking the leap to give back to the children’s hospice which became a second home for their family:
“Derian House has been a huge part of my life up until my daughter passed away 2 years ago. The support they provided for my daughter, myself and my family was phenomenal. It became like a second home for us for a few years, my little girl absolutely loved the time she spent there!
“They helped me to create memories I will cherish forever. Derian House honestly kept me going in many ways I didn’t even realise at the time. I’ve always wanted to fundraise for them when and where ever possible.”
Emma admits that the thought of jumping from a plane makes her feel sick but she is determined to face her fears for a good cause:
“I am absolutely terrified of heights! The thought of doing a skydive makes me feel physically sick but if there’s one thing I’ve learnt during my time at Derian, it’s to push yourself to do the things you didn’t think would be possible.
“That’s what they did for my little girl, they made the impossible, possible. So I’m determined to do this no matter how scared I am! It’s for a fantastic cause, a wonderful charity.”
At the time of writing, she has already raised £380 for the children’s hospice, just short of her £450 target:
“I am absolutely over the moon with the donations already made by so many wonderful people! I am so grateful to each and every one of them for supporting me.”
