Plans for Cardinal Newman College to have a new look have been confirmed following a planning application being submitted to Preston City Council.
Plans were submitted by Cardinal Newman College for a new stand-alone teaching block to accommodate media and art departments.
Plans will combine the TV and digital media departments with the art departments to create an ‘Art Quarter’ for students to enjoy.
The three-storey teaching block would include a TV studio, photo studio, and graphics, art and media rooms.
Cardinal Newman have been considering remodelling their opening and main entrance for a short while now. They have considered plans to have a direct link into the new external arts area to St James Building.
The new teaching area is proposed to be located nearby the St James car park, providing a new external courtyard.
The planning documents say the new facility is intended to enhance the college while aiding the roll out of new media courses.
