There are plans to turn an old newsagents into a trendy new bar in Fulwood.
Plans proposed to Preston City Council suggest changing the ground floor of an existing site on Broadway in Fulwood into a bar. The building is currently occupied as a newsagents.
Proposed plans will see the building refurbished into a new licensed micro-bar with capacity to sit 61 people.
There will be 2 car parking spaces after the proposed development is refurbished and the new microbar will create 2 full-time jobs.
The new microbar would be open from 12pm-11pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm-10pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays to “respect any local concerns relating to potential noise disturbance”.
A & T Architectural Design LTD, said: “The development would be a positive attraction to the area and would increase its popularity. We believe the development would also raise the market value of the locality.
“The proposals will not affect the character and appearance of the area. It is our intention to provide a scheme, which will enhance the environment, provide a good benefit to the community.
“We share the Council’s views in uplifting the area and encouragement given to support such developments and we hope the planning committee and the residents would share the same views.”
