Merseyside Police rushed to a popular Southport town centre bar earlier this week after reports surfaced that staff were being threatened by a man with a gun.
Officers arrived on scene shortly before 2am to West Street in Southport after reports that a man was armed with a gun and was making threats to staff. Police spoke to staff at the venue and requested CCTV footage.
According to reports, there were no weapons found at the bar and noone was injured during the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or who may have been in the local area at the time.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “At around 1.55am on Sunday 21 August officers were called to West Street in Southport following reports of a man armed with a gun making threats to staff at a bar in the area.
“Police attended and spoke with staff at the premises.
“There was no trace of any weapons used and no one was injured during the incident.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information is asked to contact police with log 097 of 21/08/2022
